In these ever-changing times, COVID-19 has presented challenges to each and every one of us that we may not have thought possible a few months ago. Despite these changes, we are still completely dedicated to maintaining our presence in the community and to continue to support you. We are here to support your mental and emotional well-being. We are closely following CDC guidelines in our office and integrating new technology. TeleHealth allows you to access us from the comfort and safety of your own home, while still being able to help process through your thoughts and emotions. Our office is continuing to stay open for in-person appointments as well.
For many of us, the pandemic marks a period of opportunities lost – from everyday social interactions to once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, Coronavirus has touched every aspect of all of our lives, to some extent. The truth is, there isn’t a “normal” reaction to all these changes. It means something different to each of us, yet we are all going through these challenges together. It’s okay to feel how you’re feeling, there are no right and wrong reactions. While all of our kids are out of school, some parents may delight in the opportunity to spend quality time together, while others may mourn their children’s lost social and educational opportunities.
To all of you out there wondering if what you are doing is enough, know that it is. You are not expected or required to fill in for the changes that the pandemic has created. Parents, you are not obligated to replace a whole school staff. Kids likely won’t behave the same as they would in school. Adults, teens, children, individuals, couples, families… we are all experiencing our own unique change, together. It isn’t right or wrong, it isn’t good or bad. It just is. Riding out the changes as they come, we are resigned to help others and ourselves find peace in not knowing what comes next, one step at a time.
Just because these changes are new, doesn’t mean there aren’t resources to help:
